My name is Sterling, I'm 22-years-old, and I am the birthmother to the most gorgeous little boy in the world. I started this blog to share my experiences, thoughts, and help myself move forward after placing my sweet little boy. If this is your first time visiting my blog, I invite you to read my story (top of the left column). Feel free to comment with questions or requests. If you follow me, I'll follow you!

Playing the waiting game...

I went to the Dr. yesterday, and unfortunately (or fortunately? Not sure yet...) I'm still 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced, exactly what I've been for three weeks now. So apparently the little one is quite enjoying his warm, squished stay in Hotel Uterus. We're at 4 days until he's due, so we'll see what happens!

New Use

To make things easier, and because I don't want people calling me or my mom unnecessarily, I'm turning this blog into a pre-adoption/hospital/post-adoption blog. As soon as I go into labor, I'll let everyone know on here and I'll update it while I'm in the hospital. (promise!) His first picture will go out as a text, but just in case I forget (because it's bound to happen, don't get offended!) to send it to a few people, it will also be on here. So keep checking back, and please don't call me while I'm in the hospital. I'll have enough to deal with, not only with my baby and the adoption. My step-dad is in the ICU at the University of Utah hospital. He's currently in a self-induced coma, caused (most likely) by a rare metabolic disorder. The doctors have been sedating him, but will likely be taking the sedation off soon. My step-dad has been my anchor through this pregnancy, and so it's heartbreaking that he won't be at the hospital or at placement through my whole ordeal (he won't be released from the ICU for at least a week, and we'll be well past delivery and placement at that point). For this reason, I'd like to minimize the amount of people who come visit me at the hospital to only family, excepting a few people who are like family to me. I want to spend as much time as I can with my little boy before placement, without others around. I'd like to thank everyone who has been supportive of me, and I know you'd like to meet my little boy. This is not a closed adoption, and there will be plenty of pictures to be seen. If you're truly wanting to be supportive, please pray for my step-dad and be there for me after placement. Thanks again to everyone! Oh, and this will say it's posted by Tina Kraaima, my mom, because her blog for Lynn's hospital stay is set up under my account... Anyway. I'm the one posting.
